POSH & Child Safety

Swapna Sundar and PM Shanas began work in this domain by writing SOPs and guidelines to help companies comply with DEI mandates supporting women and persons with disabilities at the workplace, ensuring their comfort and safety and enabling the workplace to be productive and happy.

In 2018, they included Child Safety and school safety within the purview of their activities. They now support schools with SOPs and guidelines as mandated under the POCSO Act, CBSE guidelines and Juvenile Justice Act.

Shanas and Swapna also represent survivors of sexual harassment and rape - both children and adults, and support the prosecution with litigation strategy and research

Service with Courage and Principles

Sexual Harassment Act

The Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act requires employers to set up Internal Committees,  sensitise the workforce, display information, and respond promptly and effectively to complaints. We enable employers to comply with these requirements. They also empower aggrieved persons to take control of the situation, and pursue legal remedies.

POCSO and JJ Act

Children are one the most vulnerable sections of our society. As adults and as professionals, our team supports the health, safety, and well-being of all children. We help schools, dance studios, chess academies, sports academies and other training centres to be child-friendly and safe. We train staff and volunteers in POCSO and the JJ Act, and enable swift and decisive action to help children in trauma.

Training and sensitisation

Violence against women and girls is a pandemic that has to be dealt with at the social as well as judicial levels. Swapna and Shanas help institutions, colleges, NGOs, service-providers and shelter homes to take steps to mitigate and end violence against women in their own jurisdiction through training and sensitisation. They also work with civil society organisations to highlight such issues.

Criminal Remedies

Where preventive strategies do not work, and cases of domestic violence, sexual harassment, rape, survivor harassment and other issues have to be dealt with at the level of the judiciary, Swapna and Shanas help clients during their visit to police stations and other authorities, help them draft complaints, and help them to follow up on their cases till an outcome is achieved.
